Beware the Frosts of March

After a fairly sunny day yesterday, air temperatures began to drop late afternoon. Managed to get down to the garden, some late winter / early spring jobs. Feeding the fruit bushes planted last year with organic chicken manure pellets, a good source of nitrogen, a handful scattered around the base of the bush & hoed in gently. This early feed provides rich nutrients to the shrubs as the buds unfurl to small leaves for the beginning of the growing season.

Awoke to a beautiful sunrise this morning. By 8am, the heavy overnight frost sparkled! Too early for outdoor sowing in this neck of the woods, so preparations will focus on sowing a few more annuals indoors & the conservatory. I might be running out of windowsills!
